Dansverkstæðið offers training and workshops for dancers and choreographers twice a week. Morning class is free for members of Dansverkstæðið, non-members pay 2.000 ISK pr class.

In these high-paced morning classes we combine elements from floorwork and acrobatics. Through a thorough warm-up focusing on strengthening the central and upper body, the class commences with technical phrases and exercises going across the room. At the later parts of the class, we research the choreographic potentials of the class materials, with longer routines taking place.
Leevi Rauhalahti (they/them) is a Finnish contemporary dancer and choreographer. After graduating from Iceland University of the Arts (BA in Contemporary Dance Practices) in 2024, they have worked as freelancer mainly in Finland, Estonia and Iceland, both as a dancer in solo and group works, as well as a choreographer and facilitator. They are especially interested in combining gender queerness and dance, deconstructing virtuosity and popular culture references

Kirill Berezovski
Kirill Berezovski; dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director and teacher whose practice is shaped by a diverse background in contemporary, floorwork and urban dance. His professional experience includes learning and training with among others Kibbutz Dance Company, Ailey School, Anne Surrendonk, Ella Rothchild, Emanuel Gat. Kirill is freshly based in iceland and is looking forward to share and exchange with the local dance scene.
At the core of Kirill’s practice is “Molecular Flow”—a distinctive movement approach that fuses contemporary dance with urban movement vocabulary. The result is a highly physical and dynamic practice that explores flow, musicality, rhythm, texture, and the continuous transformation of movement.
In this workshop, professional dancers are invited to explore the principles of Molecular Flow through demanding physical material, shifts in dynamics, and an ongoing dialogue between control, release, rhythm, and instinct. The work challenges dancers to move beyond established patterns and discover new possibilities within their own physicality.

Þyri Huld Árnadóttir
Þyri Huld dansaði með Íslenska dansflokknum í fjölda ára. Eftir að hún lauk ferli sínum hjá dansflokknum fór hún til Hollands, þar sem hún bjó í eitt og hálft ár og stundaði nám í Authentic Romana’s Pilates til að öðlast kennararéttindi.
Á meðan á dvöl hennar í Hollandi stóð kynntist hún GYROTONIC®-kerfinu og heillaðist strax af nálguninni. Þá var ekki aftur snúið og hún hóf nám til að verða GYROTONIC®-kennari, sem hún lauk sumarið 2026.
Þyri hefur mikinn áhuga á líkamanum, hreyfingu og því að halda áfram að læra og afla sér þekkingar. Hún nýtir reynslu sína sem dansari, ásamt þekkingu sinni á Pilates og GYROTONIC®, til að hjálpa öðrum að tengjast líkama sínum betur, auka líkamsvitund og finna leiðir til að hreyfa sig á öruggan, skilvirkan og heilbrigðan hátt.

Anaïs Barthe
Anaïs Barthe Leite is a French mover, choreographer, and teacher based in Iceland. With an extensive professional background as a performer in both France and Iceland, she brings her experience on stage into a teaching practice developed over the past decade.
Rooted in contemporary dance, her teaching combines a pragmatic, functional approach to warming up the body with a more intuitive exploration of movement. Through sensations, emotions, imagery, and different physical qualities, she encourages dancers to discover new ways of moving and experiencing their bodies, while preparing them to feel ready and available for movement and for the day ahead.
Her movement vocabulary is also shaped by Dancehall and Kizomba, bringing groove, fluidity, musicality, and smoothness into the practice.
Anaïs has taught professional dancers and movers at institutions including Íslenski Dansflokkurinn, Dansverkstæðið, and Listaháskóli Íslands. Her classes encourage curiosity and individuality, creating space for freedom, expression, and pleasure in movement.
